STARTERS

Minestrone Soup: Classic soup full of seasonal vegetables including celery, courgettes, parsley, garlic, cabbage with cannellini beans, tomatoes and pasta finished with grated cheese.
Parma Ham With Sugar Snap And Broad Bean Salad: Broad beans, sugar snap peas mixed with parsley dressing and crispy Pancetta, served with Parma ham and brown bread and butter.
Fresh Fruit Cocktail : Segmented oranges and grapefruit with chunks of fresh melon and strawberries for a refreshing starter.
Asparagus, Lemon And Ricotta Tartlet: Fresh asparagus tartlet filled with ricotta cheese, dill, lemon, cheddar cheese, eggs and cream, served with a side salad and tomato chutney.
Smoked Haddock Fishcakes With Watercress Salsa: Homemade fishcakes made of fresh smoked haddock, Dijon mustard, spring onions, potato, lemon and chives, served with a watercress salsa of oranges, chilli, onion and red pepper.

Braised Beef In Honey And Soy: Devonshire braising steak served with a sticky sauce on a bed of bok choi.
Normandy Pork With Apples And Cider: Local pork cooked slowly with onions, celery, smoked bacon and Devonshire cider, with apples, thyme and Dijon mustard finished with crème fraiche for a tasty French dish.
Mozerella Nut Stuffed Pepper: Roasted red pepper stuffed with mozerella, nuts, mushrooms, rice, herbs and garlic for a delicious vegetarian choice.
Rabbit Hunters Style: Local rabbit cooked until tender with bacon, shallots, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms and dry wine served with a mustard mash.
Salmon With Lime Herb Butter: Fresh salmon fillet baked, served with a coriander lime butter for a light summer dish.
Chicken With Wholegrain Mustard And Asparagus: Local maize fed chicken breast with a fresh asparagus, wholegrain mustard lemon sauce.

Smoked Salmon Roulades: Cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon, dill and prawns rolled in smoked salmon and served with a salad and brown bread
Melon Mango and Raspberry Coulis: Slices of melon and mango served with a homemade raspberry coulis
Chicken Liver Pate: Local chicken livers sautéed in butter with onions, bacon, garlic, brandy served with tomato chutney, side salad and toast

I have eaten here several times as part of a large group. The food is delicious and always imaginative combinations of locally sourced ingredients. They are very accommodating of special dietary requirements with prior notice. This is one of my favourites in the area.

A group of over 20 visited for a joint surprise 80th Birthday Lunch. The welcome was fantastic and there was not enough they could do for any of us. Bookings

We are open every Friday and Saturday evening  for any size table and for that special lunch or dinner we  are very happy to open any other weekday for parties of  ten or more.
